Soon as one wanker dies, another gets borneded

Posted by Mike Sugarbaker at 4:41 am on 1/29/2004

I stopped development on RSSwanker because 1) it turns out that BlogLines is really damned good, and 2) it was development. However, the other night I was bored, and I wrote FOAFwanker. It is no more full-featured than other FOAF explorers, and definitely less so than some, but it has the “view FOAF source” feature I couldn’t find anywhere else. Sure, I could configure my browser properly, but that’s for pansies. Also, I have all these wacky plans for if I get another dull night wherein coding seems like a good idea. Chief among these is a FOAF-a-matic supplement that handles some other weird bells and whistles.

Attention, all good little boys and girls!

So, I’ve got one of these. I’ve been away from Palmville for a while, so tell me: what are the really interesting Palm games? Any networked ones that are fun? I’m not really looking for puzzle games or arcade conversions – they’re easy enough to find – although free emulators would be neat. I do prefer turn-based games, and boy oh boy, do I prefer free ones.

Also, I seem to have the ability to run J2ME apps – ones that work on MIDP 1.0 anyway. I found this directory of MIDlets that looks pretty decent, but I’d love to get recommendations from real humans. What’s the hot stuff?

[Aha: found Warfare Incorporated. RTS is not totally my bag, though.]
