Even non-gaming nerds will get something out of this OgreCave interview with Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: the Gathering. Garfield is nearly as articulate and thoughtful as he was in the old “Lost in the Shuffle” columns I used to love in Duelist magazine, and Steve did a great job putting the interview together.
But really, the reason I’m posting this here is that two of the three questions I sent to Steve to be included in the interview made Garfield say, “that’s a great question.”
(The other one made him pause a long time and basically not answer. Do I lose points for that?)

Actually I don’t think I do - very little verbatim language was used in this outline summary of the first chapter of George Lakoff’s Don’t Think Of An Elephant!
If you’re a friend of mine, if you care about the hell our fine country seems to be headed toward and are starting to notice some things about the particular handbasket we’re doing it in, please, please set aside ten minutes today and read this post. Then, if you want to hear more, get the book - although just the content of the first chapter is enough grounding that, after reading it, you find that ways to state progressive values appealingly in positive terms just start coming to you. Not all of them are gems, sure, but that’s part of the fun.
Read on.
