We need a word that means both “accomplishment” and “distraction”

This past weekend I launched icehousegames.org, a fan site for Icehouse, the game and the system. Its main feature so far is a wiki running on MediaWiki, the same engine that runs Wikipedia. Icehouse has gathered around it a community of enthusiastic geeks, some of whom are great and prolific creators and excellent folks to hang out with. I’m proud to contribute to the further growth of a deeply weird set of abstractions and the tribe that follows it.

I’ve started The Loud Report, a probably-weekly series of links to free MP3s that are rocking me one way or another, over at Mindjack’s Daily Relay. (And I’m still looking for a sustainable way to podcast, if anyone can help out.)

I have no idea how many people are aware of the KongIsKing.net feed of Production Diaries - basically, a bunch of behind-the-scenes video clips from Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson’s King Kong remake, being released online while production is happening. (more…)
